Melanie Love, Founder & Principal Designer
Melanie Love founded Love & Interiors in 2017 with the goal of creating cozy, thoughtful spaces that both support and provide refuge for our busy, modern lifestyles. She’s drawn to an eclectic mix of design styles, combining elements from different eras to create layered, personal spaces. Spending time in nature provides clarity and space to germinate creative ideas and is the foundation for much of her inspiration.
Melanie holds a Masters of Interior Design from Brenau University in Atlanta, Georgia. After moving to San Francisco in 2012, her experience staging homes around the Bay Area allowed her to quickly become familiar with the local architectural vernacular before designing residential and commercial spaces in Northern California and beyond. She enjoys traveling as often as possible, finding inspiration in architecture and design wherever she goes.
On the weekends, you will often find her hiking with her pup, exploring the great outdoors or perusing a local vintage markets.
Valerie Moore, Project Manager & Designer
Born and raised in Northern California, Valerie pursued a different path before discovering her passion for interior design. After graduating from UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in exercise biology and an eleven-year career in the skydiving industry, she earned her associate’s degree in interior design at FIDM in San Francisco.
Valerie describes her personal style as ‘chunky’ and believes any color can be a neutral if you do it right. Her favorite part of interior design is helping clients refine and elevate their personal style.
While still occasionally jumping out of airplanes, Valerie now splits most of her free time between the pottery studio, DIY projects, thrift stores and vintage markets.
Karly Deal, Senior Designer
A Bay Area native, Karly pursued her childhood dreams, graduating in Interior Architecture from CSU Chico. Her experience spans across small studio residential design firms throughout the Bay Area and Lake Tahoe region. She draws her inspiration from her love of the outdoors and values spaces that feel warm and inviting, yet prioritize form and function. She has a deep appreciation for the art of space planning, treating each project as a puzzle to solve. Her heaven consists of hiking to new swimming holes, hot spring hunting, camping in her roof tent with her fluffy pup, and eating her grandma’s homemade tortellini.
